Software Solutions

It is our commitment to make the justice system more efficient, accessible and transparent and the CAJS has worked with Caribbean-based software architects and developers to create a suite of web-based software tools that assist courts and attorneys in the administration of justice and give general public in access to the services of legal system.

 

AccessLegal

AccessLegal is a platform that provides technology tools and services that support Legal Aid clinics in the Caribbean which was designed in collaboration with the Eugene Dupuch Law School in The Bahamas.

The AccistLegal initiative brings innovative technology solutions and strategic collaborations with bar associations and courts to:

Facilitate the provision of legal aid services in a cost-effective and efficient manner;

  • encourage agility and innovation in the provision of legal aid services
  • leverage appropriate educational resources to deliver services to citizens in need
  • identify, assess, and recognize the diverse legal needs of un-served or under-served citizens throughout the Caribbean
  • provide a framework of accountability for the expenditure of public funds in support of legal aid services.

PEAK Internship Program

The Agency’s Professional Experience & Applied Knowledge (PEAK) Internship Program seeks to equip suitably qualified law graduates with critical competencies that integrate theory with practical in-demand skills relevant to needs of the Caribbean justice sector.

The PEAK Internship Program provides qualified students and recent graduates with an opportunity to build valuable legal and professional skills, while learning about different areas of the Agency’s work and gaining exposure to various fields in the Caribbean justice sector.

 

ElevateJustice

The world that our justice systems operate in is evolving rapidly presenting challenges to in every area of justice delivery. To come up with the right answers, justice systems need to ask the right questions. This requires that data must be gathered and interrogated to help courts meet the challenges of the modern era. Thus, the Caribbean Agency for Justice Solutions launched the initiative to:

  • conduct research into the needs of the sector and to assess how these needs can be optimally addressed
  • facilitate and promote evidence-based, justice sector innovation, policy development, and investment
  • provide support to justice sector practitioners to help them develop and implement innovative solutions and more effective practices
  • share lessons between jurisdictions at the forefront of innovative problem-solving and service delivery
